Golden Globes--it's like the Oscars, but with alcohol.

Tonight is the Golden Globes!  I'm pretty excited because this is my absolute favorite awards show of the season for several reasons:

1) They present awards for TV and movies, meaning that there are twice the number of celebrities that attend this event.  This also covers two of my favorite media platforms, which is pretty cool. Plus, it's just awesome to see some of your favorite film and television stars under the same roof, laughing at the same poorly-timed jokes, etc.

2) The Globes are more "prestigious" than shows like the People's Choice Awards (so celebrities actually SHOW UP to accept their awards), but they're not as "serious" as the Oscars.  The overall tone is just a bit more casual, and celebrities tend to get away with more than they could at a typical awards show.  Remember when Lara Flynn Boyle wore that ridiculous tutu to the Globes in 2003?  Or when Isaac Mizrahi felt up Scarlett Johansson on the red carpet in 2006? Classic moments brought to you by the Golden Globes...

3) Alcohol.  Unlike other awards shows, the Golden Globes provides its guests with a full meal and an open bar.  And what do you think nervous stars do as they wait for their category to be announced?  They drink.  A lot.  This can result in some pretty slurred but also candid acceptance speeches and red carpet interviews.  For example...
